Bonobos (pygmy chimpanzees), are an extremely intelligent species of great ape with which we share 98.7% of our genetic profile!  This life-sized anthropological reconstruction of Pan paniscus (bonobo or "pygmy chimpanzee") is being created using compiled tissue depth data and a 3D printed bonobo skull.  The focus of this piece will be to depict the head and neck musculature of the bonobo as a comparison to our closely related human anatomy, demonstrating just how similar we are beneath the surface.
